Introducing the 2026 NVITAFE Training Awards!

The inaugural NVITAFE Training Awards mark an exciting milestone, bringing together students, staff and industry and community partners from GOTAFE and Wodonga TAFE into a unified awards program for the first time.

These annual awards will celebrate the outstanding achievements of our students, as well as the teachers, instructors and industry whose dedication and support contribute to their success.

Finalists receive recognition across NVITAFE with winners announced at the Awards Ceremony held in Wangaratta on the evening of Thursday 26 November.

Award Categories

Student Categories

Apprentice of the Year +

Celebrating apprentices completing a nationally recognised qualification through a registered training contract who have studied with NVITAFE in 2026.

Defence Student of the Year +

Recognising Defence members undertaking training delivered by NVITAFE in 2026 as part of a Commonwealth training contract.

First Nations Student of the Year +

Celebrating First Nations students who have demonstrated achievement, commitment and growth through their studies with NVITAFE in 2026.

School-based Apprentice/Trainee of the Year +

Recognising school students undertaking a Certificate II or higher qualification as a part-time school-based apprentice or trainee in 2026.

Trainee of the Year +

Celebrating trainees completing a nationally recognised qualification through a registered training contract who have studied with NVITAFE in 2026.

Vocational Student of the Year +

Celebrating non-apprentice and non-trainee students undertaking or completing a nationally recognised qualification with NVITAFE in 2026.

VDSS Student of the Year +

Recognising students in Years 10, 11 or 12 completing vocational training alongside their secondary school certificate in 2026.

Young Achiever of the Year (25 and under) +

Celebrating students aged 25 or under who are undertaking or completing a nationally recognised qualification with NVITAFE in 2026.

Staff Categories

Teacher of the Year +

Celebrating an outstanding teacher who is actively employed by NVITAFE and makes a positive impact through education and training.

Instructor of the Year +

Celebrating an outstanding instructor or trainer who is actively employed by NVITAFE and makes a positive impact through their work.

Business Categories

Employer Recognition Award +

Recognising businesses that demonstrate a strong commitment to investing in the training, development and success of their people.

Industry Collaboration Award +

Celebrating an outstanding formal partnership between NVITAFE and an employer or industry body that advances skills, training and workforce development.
